Raising healthy, happy and competent eaters can feel like a big challenge. Feeding responsively can help reduce meal time stress for little ones and parents and set the foundation for developing a positive relationship with food. In this session we will chat about feeding little ones, from their first bite to when they are toddling around and how to do this in a way that will help you raise healthy and happy eaters.

The Importance of Connection and how to Build a Relationship with your Child

The Importance of Connection and how to Build a Relationship with your Child

This is not another workshop about parenting advice or one that outlines yet another list of skills or strategies you need to acquire to be the “perfect” parent. This is a workshop that focuses on understanding connection in human relationships – specifically the critical importance of connection in parent-child relationships. It focuses on the WHY and the HOW TO. We will take a deeper dive into a positive parenting model that really works, called Connected Parenting. Connected Parenting helps parents understand that a few adjustments in how they interact with, and respond to their child, can dramatically impact their relationship in the short and long term. Parents who practice Connected Parenting experience greater calm and confidence, especially when a child’s behaviour is most challenging and triggering. Children in turn feel heard, loved and understood. A win-win.
You will also learn more about how to regulate your own emotions in the BIG moments and help your child regulate their own emotions. Specifically, you will learn what is most and least effective to do. Most importantly, you will learn how to help your child shift from a place of fear or avoidance of emotions, to a place of understanding and how to live with, and embrace all of our emotions.

Speaker: Ulrica Jobe, Parent Coach, Child & Family Counsellor, Connected Parenting Therapist, Founder of True Compass, Honours BA, Psychology and Family Science, MEd, Developmental Psychology and Education, OISE University of Toronto

Speaker Bio: Ulrica is a passionate educator, counsellor, coach, speaker and workshop facilitator who works with parents, children, families and educators. Ulrica is the founder of True Compass, an organization with a mission to support social emotional learning, provide family coaching and counselling services. Ulrica’s warmth and compassion set the stage for everyone to feel at ease, gain trust and be motivated to explore new perspectives. Ulrica has worked as a Sexual Health Educator facilitating workshops with children, adolescents and parents. Ulrica has been trained in the Centred Leadership model and obtained her MEd in Developmental Psychology and Education at OISE University of Toronto, with a specialization in Mental Health. Ulrica brings valuable skills, knowledge and experience to her work with True Compass and Connected Parenting and is the resident Parent Coach on staff at The Giving Tree Centre in Toronto.

Through Ulrica’s coaching and counselling, clients will be encouraged to celebrate their successes while embracing the messiness of life. Clients who work with Ulrica will leave their sessions and workshops with confidence and practical solutions to learn, grow and thrive as a human. Ulrica lives in Toronto with her partner, Dan, and her daughter, Caia.

Nervous System Support for Moms & Families
Join Dr. Kristina Bosnar, The Doctor Biohacking Supermom, to uncover the key to resilience: navigating life's Challenges with nervous system support for Moms & Families. Let's connect for an insightful exploration of strategies to boost well-being and harmony in your family's journey.

Speaker: Dr. Kristina Bosnar, DC, CACCP, CFMP, IFMCP, B.Sc.

Speaker Bio: Dr. Kristina Bosnar, the Doctor Biohacking Supermom, is a Chiropractic Doctor and Functional Medicine Practitioner with 20+ years of experience changing lives.  Dr. Kristina’s advanced clinical training in Brain Health, Gut Health and Autoimmunity as well as Functional Pediatrics has led her to become a sought after specialist for high level entrepreneurs and their families.

Over the last 20+ years in practice, Dr. Kristina has been witness to a deterioration in our community's health. She has watched as people grow increasingly frustrated with traditional approaches and experience deep feelings of helplessness and failure.

These symptoms we are experiencing are messages from the body- signals that are being sent to bring attention to imbalances that need more support. The goal is to interpret those messages and create an empowering partnership with patients to read their own body’s signals to create a state of balance and healing.

"Seeing the power of food and lifestyle along with Functional Medicine protocols, I began including food as a foundational aspect to every protocol. Using these foundational skills revived my life and rebuilt the health of my loved ones. In fact, these tools created an explosion of success in the results I see in my practice."

Bosnar Health is a Functional Medicine Wellness clinic at Yonge & Eglinton. Our mission is to make taking care of yourself feel so incredibly rewarding that you choose to make time for it.

Speaker: Mo Wright Stein, MScPT, BScH Kin

Speaker Bio: Mo grew up in Toronto and spent many of her summers at camp in Muskoka, where she first found her passion for helping kids develop new skills through fun and creative programming. Mo loves to be involved with mentorship roles through Kids Physio Group, and is continuously looking to expand her skill set through continuing education courses. Mo is passionate about treating babies and children with developmental delay and uses her extended education to treat torticollis and plagiocephaly, developmental hip dysplasia, toe-walking, cerebral palsy, and neurological conditions.
